Over the many years of her amazing career, Elizabeth David wrote many articles and recipes for the festive season of Christmas. After much discussion of the subject of creating a book for Christmas, she put together a collection of articles,extracts, recipes and notes but alas were never published in her lifetime. After her death this file was discovered among her papers.

She takes a very light hearted view of the Christmas meal and puts far more emphasis on relaxing and enjoying oneself. This book is a joy to read, with plenty of enticing recipes and far superior than the mundane selection of Christmas cookbooks that fill the shops shelves leading up to the festive season.
