Rosa is an Italian born Australian chef. Twenty years ago her husband Colin and herself bought a farm in the countryside in Victoria, Australia. Here she created a haven planting olive and fruit trees, extending the vineyard, growing her own fruit and vegetables and of course keeping her own chickens.

This book is all about using fresh local, seasonal ingredients, to create gorgeous Australian style country food often with Italian origins. Recipes have a homely style 'this is not to say simple' and are complemented by enticing colourful photographs. Recipes are well laid out, clear and easy to follow with plenty of information on the dishes origins and ingredients. Tasty dishes include: 'Pumpkin, Barley and Chicory Soup', 'Beef and Chestnut cooked in Beer', 'Nettle Frittata', 'Pear, Chocolate and Pistachio Cake' and 'Fig and Fennel Biscuits'.

This is feel good cookbook, pleasant reading and full of really delicious recipes. A great cookbook for lovers of real food!
