July, 2025 Edition

July, 2025

Welcome to FoodieSite!

If you’re basking in the long, sunlit days of midsummer July is a season to relish—and to share. Our gardens and markets are groaning with ripe berries—juicy cherries, raspberries, blueberries, blackcurrants, strawberries—and an abundance of warm‑weather vegetables like tomatoes, courgettes, runner beans, cucumbers, aubergines, and fresh peas. Expect bright salads, stone‑fruit crumbles, cool soups, light grills, and dishes that let nature’s peak produce do the talking.

During July, the Southern Hemisphere experiences mid‑winter, and despite the chill, there’s a rich harvest to celebrate. The markets glow with citrus splendour—mandarins, navel and Cara Cara oranges, grapefruit and tangelos are all at their peak. On the vegetable side, winter root crops dominate: beetroot, carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins and potatoes are abundant. Brussels sprouts, leeks, cabbage, cauliflower, silverbeet, spinach, and hearty brassicas bring nutrition and warmth to any plate.
