The book introduces the reader to the Italian way of life and passion for food and clearly explains the Mediterranean diet and its health advantages.
Who ever said vegetarian food was boring? This book surely proves them wrong. With plenty of delicious traditional recipes from homes in Italy, including classics such as "Risotto Milanese" and "Spaghetti Alla Napoletana" (Spaghetti with Tomato and Basil Sauce) and less known dishes including "Zucchini A Scapece" (Sun-Dried Courgettes with Mint and Garlic) and "Polpette Di Patate E Ricotta" (Potato and Ricotta Balls). Recipes are uncomplicated, easy to follow and quick to make. More cook books should be like this one. Each recipe has an interesting introduction, and information about its nutritional value.
One of the best Italian cook books I have seen(believe me that is saying something), this book provides a fascinating read and makes the mouth water.
