Flatjacks are very popular snacks, but the mass produced ones that you buy from the supermarkets are rubbish. This recipe shows you how easy they are to make.

Ingredients
Flapjacks
100g unsalted butter
100g golden syrup
50g brown sugar
250g natural museli with fruit and nuts(nuts optional)
50g sultanas
100g mixed soft dried fruit eg.figs, apricots, prunes etc.
Method
Flapjacks: Melt the butter with the golden syrup and sugar. Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl and mix in the melted butter mixture.
Lightly butter a deep tray. Spread the flapjack mixture over the tray so that it is around 3-4cm thick and press it down firmly.
Place the flapjacks in an oven preheated to 180C for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and leave for 10-15 minutes.
Cut the flapjacks into 12 or more squares. Allow the flapjacks to cool thoroughly and store in a sealed container for up to a week.
